Roseville Youth Theater Instructor Convicted of Annoying/Molesting a Child

ROSEVILLE, CA  —  On Monday August 4th, 2025, the Placer County Superior Court sentenced David Williams, 30, following his misdemeanor conviction for ‘annoying/molesting’ a child. The conviction requires Williams to register as a sex offender for 10 years, despite the misdemeanor classification of the offense.

According to court records, Williams began secretly filming underage girls in public spaces in 2024. The investigation was initiated after a 14-year-old girl reported being followed and recorded by Williams. The Roseville Police Department’s investigation, which included victim identification and reviewing security footage, determined that Williams had followed and recorded a minimum of 15 underage girls. Further investigation revealed that Williams was an instructor for multiple local youth theater groups.

The court imposed a 180-day jail sentence and a one-year probationary period. During the sentencing, the judge noted that recent state law limits the probationary term for this offense to one year. Additionally, the court mandated that Williams have no contact with minors during his probation, register as a sex offender, and participate in sex offender treatment as directed by the Probation Department.
