Two Arrested for Allegedly Brandishing AR-Style Pistol in Public

MADERA, CA — “Last night, MPD officers were dispatched to the brandishing of a firearm in the area of Nebraska St. and Lincoln Ave. The suspect identified by the caller was said to be displaying gang signs during the brandishing.

Officer Aldecoa’s immediate response allowed him to locate the suspects attempting to flee the scene in a vehicle. The suspects, later identified as 23-year-old Nathan Odeh and 29-year-old Mark Vera, were stopped after they tried to hide an AR-style pistol on the fence line of a neighboring residence near the Fastway Market.

Not only were both suspects taken into custody by night shift officers, but the firearm was also safely recovered from the scene.”
