Shasta County Motorist Arrested for DUI After Fatally Striking Pedestrian, Authorities Say
REDDING, CA — “On Thursday, August 7th, 2025 around 2058 hours, a white Dodge mini van was traveling southbound on Highway 273, just north of South Bonnyview, when it collided with a pedestrian. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was determined to be under the influence of drugs and was placed under arrest for DUI. The case is still under investigation by the Redding Police Department Traffic Unit.
