CAMARILLO, CA — August 6, 2025 – Two Oxnard residents were arrested on July 23 after deputies found suspected stolen
property, narcotics, and burglary tools in their possession.
Camarillo Patrol deputies responded to “a report of suspicious activity involving the sale of merchandise from the back of a U-Haul truck” on one of
the city’s main thoroughfares.
Deputies made contact with Oxnard residents Gabriel Robert Adams, 44, and Tazma Monroe,
48, near the vehicle.
A “probable cause” search of the truck immediately ensued, leading to the
discovery of high-value numerous power tools as well as unspecified controlled substances.
Based upon prior theft reports in the Ojai Valley area northeast of Camarillo, deputies suspected
the property — including used power tools, bicycles, an air compressor and articles of mail — was illegally possessed.
Both Monroe and Adams were taken into custody at the scene and were transported to Ventura
County Jail, where they were booked.
They face charges of:
Possession of a controlled substance
Possession of a controlled substance with prior convictions, possession of burglary tools,
Possession of stolen property, and identity theft.
