RED BLUFF, CA — Shortly before 10:30PM on Monday, August 4th, Red Bluff PD officers conducted a routine directed enforcement of City Park on Riverside Way as part of the department’s ongoing effort to ensure the safety of public spaces after hours. During this routine directed enforcement, Officers Howland and Kilbury observed a woman in the park after hours, who was also displaying suspicious behavior.
The individual was identified as 39-year-old Estella Wright, who has a history of numerous arrests. During the contact, officers determined that Wright had multiple outstanding felony warrants. She was subsequently taken into custody without incident.
Following the arrest, Officer Howland conducted a search of Wright’s property. The search resulted in the discovery of nearly one ounce of suspected methamphetamine, a digital scale in working condition, drug paraphernalia, packaging materials consistent with narcotics sales, and a quantity of cash in various denominations. Based on the evidence collected, Wright was arrested on a new felony charge for possession of a controlled substance for sale.
Wright was transported to the Tehama County Jail, where she was booked on the outstanding warrants as well as the new narcotics-related offense.
The Red Bluff Police Department has stated it will continue proactive patrols and directed enforcement in public parks throughout the city. The department’s goal is to maintain a safe environment for residents and visitors, particularly during hours when the parks are closed to the public.
