Madera County: Reported “Street Takeover” Results in Motorist’s Arrest for Alleged Felony Evading
“On Sunday, July 27, 2025, just before 8:00 p.m., multiple callers reported a street takeover on SR-145, at Avenue 7. Approximately 30 vehicles were reported to be blocking the intersection, along with numerous spectators.
A black Jeep Grand Cherokee was observed driving reckless and a traffic stop was attempted. The driver had other plans and fled at high speeds, initiating a pursuit. The driver subsequently surrendered on Road 35, south of Avenue 9 and was taken into custody. An 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old juvenile were passengers in the Jeep. The driver was booked at the Madera County Jail for felony evading.”
