Redding Man Arrested for Alleged Stabbing at Posse Grounds Boat Ramp
REDDING, CA — A man on parole was arrested for an alleged stabbing, according to authorities.
In a press release, the Redding Police Department reported that officers had been dispatched to the Posse Grounds Boat Ramp on the night of Sunday, July 27, for a reported stabbing.
At the scene, officers made contact with the victim, who had sustained a stab wound to his lower neck. The victim was taken to an area hospital and treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.
Officers obtained a description of the suspect and searched the area, ultimately locating an individual who matched the description in the area of Lake Redding Park.
Officers reportedly identified this individual as Jason Wiebusch, 48.
Wiebusch was arrested and later booked into the Shasta County jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and an outstanding parole warrant for his arrest, police said.
