Authorities Reportedly Discover Illegal Cannabis Grow Site in Valley Springs

VALLEY SPRINGS, CA — Authorities in Calaveras County conducted a search on related to an illegal cannabis cultivation site.

According to a press release by the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office, the operation took place on the morning of Friday, July 18, on the 2000 block of Quail Oaks Road. It was led by the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team under a warrant approved by the Calaveras County Superior Court.

Deputies reportedly located a modified building containing several grow rooms and seized 612 cannabis plants.

The estimated street value of the plants was estimated at approximately $500,000, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators reportedly also identified potential safety concerns involving unpermitted electrical and plumbing systems.

Personnel from the Calaveras County Code Compliance Department were called to the location to examine the violations.

No individuals were present during the search, and the investigation is ongoing.
