LIVERMORE, CA — Police recently arrested a suspect implicated in a gang-related shooting that occurred earlier this month. The suspect, Jesus E. Andrade, 25, of Livermore, remains in custody at Alameda County Santa Rita Jail ineligible for release on bond.
Andrade allegedly targeted the victim in a drive-by shooting that happened on July 5th shortly before 2am. The victim, a 27-year-old man, was shot on the 300 block of Chestnut Street in Livermore, and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Responding officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers provide first aid for the victim, until paramedics arrived on the scene. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment. The victim has since been released from the hospital and is recovering from his injuries.
Detectives from the Livermore Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau followed up leads and collected evidence. Andrade was identified as the shooting suspect. He was taken into custody on July 8 at 7:47 a.m., while leaving his residence.
The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office filed multiple felony charges on July 10 against Andrade. His charges include shooting from a motor vehicle and assault with a semiautomatic firearm. He faces additional firearms-related charges pertaining inflicting great bodily injury, and planning and sophistication of a crime.
