Delano Police Arrest Man on Suspicion of Armed Bank Robbery
DELANO, CA — “On Friday, July 11, 2025, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Delano Police Officers responded to Tri-Counties Bank regarding an armed robbery. The suspect brandished a firearm at bank employees and demanded money before fleeing the scene in a vehicle with approximately $72,000.
The Delano Police Department Investigations Division assumed responsibility of the case. Through investigative efforts, the suspect vehicle was identified as a white GMC Terrain. Flock Safety – License Plate Reader (LPR) technology played a critical role in tracking the vehicle.
With assistance from the Dinuba Police Department, the suspect vehicle was located in Dinuba and found to be driven by Roman Espino, 37, a resident of Kingsburg, CA. Investigators served search warrants at residences associated with Espino in both Dinuba and Kingsburg, as well as on the vehicle he was driving. A large amount of cash bundled with Tri-Counties Bank currency bands was recovered, along with a pellet pistol.
Espino was arrested and booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office – Justice Receiving Facility for charges related to the armed robbery.
