Santa Rosa Man Arrested for Allegedly Shooting at Other Man During Argument

SANTA ROSA, CA — A Sonoma County man was recently arrested for allegedly firing at another man he’d had an argument with at his apartment complex.

According to a press release by the Santa Rosa Police Department, officers responded in the morning of Sunday, July 6, to the 2000 block of Pioneer Way to investigate a report of a gunshot.

Officers learned that two individuals had gotten into an argument that escalated into one allegedly firing a shot at the other.

Responding officers located the suspect and reportedly identified him as Cesar Pacheco, 38, of Santa Rosa.

Officers allege that Pacheco had gotten into an argument that turned physical before the two then separated, at which point Pacheco allegedly retrieved a firearm from his apartment. He returned to the scene and allegedly fired one round at the victim, who was not hit.

No other people were injured, police said.

Pacheco was ultimately arrested on suspicion of assault with a firearm and booked at the Sonoma County jail.

Despite obtaining a warrant for Pacheco’s residence and vehicle, investigators have reportedly not been able to locate the firearm. The investigation into this incident continues.
