Two Arrested in Connection to Retail Robberies and Pepper Spray Assault
RIALTO, CA — On July 3, officers responded to a robbery at a Five Below retail store involving a female suspect who reportedly left the store with merchandise without paying. According to police, when the store manager attempted to intervene, the suspect used pepper spray before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. The individual was later identified as 19-year-old Kamya Brown.
Authorities linked the same vehicle to a prior robbery that occurred one week earlier, allegedly involving Brown and 18-year-old Raynon Terry Whitaker. The vehicle was located in the parking lot of a hotel in the City of Colton, where both suspects were residing. A search warrant was executed at the location, during which officers recovered two unregistered firearms and additional evidence reportedly connecting the suspects to both robberies.
Brown and Whitaker were taken into custody without incident. Both were booked on firearm-related charges, including carrying a loaded firearm inside a vehicle and carrying a loaded firearm not being the registered owner. Brown was also charged with robbery and assault with a caustic chemical. The arrests occurred approximately four hours after the second incident.
