OAKLEY, CA — A fight erupted at a birthday party in Oakley leading to the arrest of Alvonda T. Meyers,
39, of Antioch.
Some of the partygoers went outside where the violence escalated, when Meyers allegedly struck a man with her vehicle on purpose.
The party fracas happened on June 24 shortly before midnight. Oakley officers were dispatched to the
500 block of Mockingbird Lane. A caller reported a physical altercation occurred inside a residence,
prompting some of the partygoers to go outside.
“The suspect identified as Meyers got into her vehicle and intentionally struck a male victim,” Oakley
police said in a prepared statement. One of his legs was pinned between two vehicles resulting in
injuries.
“Meyers then drove up and down the street striking several parked vehicles, and nearly stuck
pedestrians who attended the party.”
Officers attempted to stop Meyers but she fled prompting a police pursuit. Spike strips were deployed
which flattened two of her tires.
Nevertheless, Meyers continued fleeing through Oakley and into Antioch.
Meyers finally stopped on Fernbank Way in Antioch, where she was placed under arrest without
further incident.
She was taken to the Martinez Detention Facility, where she remains in custody in lieu
of $80,000 bond.
Meyers was booked on suspicion of the following charges –
* Assault with a deadly weapon or force likely to produce great bodily injury
* Hit and run resulting in property damage
* DUI Alcohol
* Evading an officer with wanton disregard for safety
