Madera County Man Arrested for Allegedly Shooting Other Man During Dispute
MADERA, CA — “In the month of June, Officers responded to a local hotel regarding shots being fired. During the investigation it was discovered that two males were in a dispute that escalated to a firearm being used. The shooter, 29-year-old Cosme Cervantes, fled the scene after the shooting.
Due to Cosme’s violent criminal past, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) took over the case. SIU tracked Cosme to a location in the city of Madera and took him into custody after he attempted to flee from Detectives. A search warrant was authored for the residence he was hiding out at. SIU Detectives located an assault rifle, an unregistered handgun, extended magazines, and ammunition.
Cosme was booked into the Madera County Jail for attempted murder and several felony gun charges.”
