Delano Police Arrest Four in Connection with Shoplifting Incident

DELANO, CA  —  “On June 12, 2025, at about 9:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at Ross Dress for Less. Store employees noticed several people with multiple shopping carts full of merchandise, which raised concerns. Before officers arrived, the group left the store without paying for the items.

A short time later, a vehicle matching the description was spotted heading south on Highway 99. Officers stopped the vehicle in McFarland and detained four individuals: Rebecca Lynn Russell (32 Bakersfield), Gordon Erik Colson (47, Bakersfield), Stephen Noe Gutierrez (25, Bakersfield) and Eduardo Barrios Jr. (37 Bakersfield).

All four were arrested. Officers recovered $1,525.49 worth of stolen merchandise from the vehicle, which was returned to the store. A small amount of illegal narcotics were also found in the car.”
