Deputies Carry Out Drug-Related Search Warrant in McKinleyville; Three Arrested
McKINLEYVILLE, CA — Three people were recently arrested following a sheriff’s office investigation into alleged drug activity at a residence in McKinleyville.
According to a press release by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, deputies carried out a search warrant the morning of Sunday, June 15, at a residence on the 1900 block of Elmwood Place in McKinleyville.
The warrant was issued in response to multiple complaints from the community regarding possible illegal drug activity at the property, the sheriff’s office said.
During the search, deputies reportedly located drug paraphernalia and a “small amount” of methamphetamine.
Three individuals were arrested in connection with the investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.
Brian Mitchell, 45, of McKinleyville, was arrested on suspicion of maintaining a place for unlawful drug activity and possession of a stolen vehicle. Michael Offutt, 32, and Dana Hawkins, 41, both of McKinleyville, were arrested on suspicion of being present where controlled substances are used.
