Stabbing Suspect Arrested –  Following Property Dispute

TULARE, CA  —  “On May 15, 2025 at approximately 3:55PM Tulare Police Department communication center received a call regarding a fight in the 200 Blk of W. Inyo Ave. The caller advised one of the males involved was stabbed and had walked away from the area. When officers arrived, they found where the stabbing occurred. The victim and suspect had both left the area. Witnesses provided a description of the individuals involved and officers searched for them.

After a few minutes a male matching one of the descriptions was located and detained. The male had blood on his person and confirmed he was involved in a physical altercation however was not the stabbed male. Independent witnesses positively identified the suspect.

After an extensive search, Officers located the stabbed victim, a 64-year-old male of Tulare. The victim had multiple stab wounds and confirmed the male detained, 47-year-old Pedro Gonzalez Becerra of Tulare, stabbed him during an argument over property. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and is in stable condition.

Pedro Gonzalez was arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and possession of a controlled substance. He will be booked at South County Detention Facility.”
