Man Arrested for Alleged Homicide After Deputies Respond to Disturbance in Valley Springs

VALLEY SPRINGS, CA — Calaveras County authorities are investigating after a welfare check resulted in an individual’s arrest on suspicion of homicide.

In a press release, the county sheriff’s office reported that they had conducted a welfare check in connection with a reported disturbance on the 7000 block of McCauley Road on the morning of Sunday, May 11.

Deputies reportedly discovered an unresponsive male in the home and pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Also at the scene, deputies detained an individual identified as Cody Michael Bridges, 24.

The following day, Bridges was identified as a suspect in connection with the case and arrested on suspicion of homicide. He was booked at the Calaveras County jail.

The investigation is ongoing and expected to last several weeks, the sheriff’s office said.
