Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest for Narcotics and Cannabis Sales in San Benito County
HOLLISTER, CA — “On March 28, 2025 at approximately 4:25pm. m. , Officer Pimentel conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Hillerest Road and Pinnacles National Highway due to several vehicle code violations. During the stop, Agent Pimentel contacted the driver, Jorel Castillo. While talking to Castillo, agent Pimentel detected a strong smell of cannabis coming from the interior of the vehicle.
Initially, Castillo denied having a significant amount of cannabis in the vehicle; however, upon perceiving the intense smell, he admitted that there was a large amount of cannabis.
As part of his investigation, agent Pimentel searched Castillo’s vehicle and discovered substantial amounts of cannabis, psilocybic mushrooms, THC oil, THC crystals, vaporizers, numerous containers, scales and notes of various denominations.
Castillo was arrested for multiple crimes, including possession for sale of controlled substances, possession of marijuana exceeding 28 grams, transport or sale of narcotics or controlled substances, and sale, distribution or possession of synthetic cannabis for sale.
