VISALIA, CA — Shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Friday April 11th, officers with the Visalia Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Mooney Boulevard and Cameron Avenue. The vehicle had been identified as being wanted in connection with an attempted murder investigation originating from Corcoran, related to a violation of Penal Code 664/187 PC.
Upon stopping the vehicle, officers detained its occupants. The driver was found to have an active warrant for attempted murder under 664/187 PC. Following the identification and confirmation of the warrant, the driver was turned over to the Corcoran Police Department.
During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located a loaded, unregistered firearm inside the purse of the female passenger. She was taken into custody and later booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Detention Facility.
The firearm involved in the original attempted murder case was still outstanding at the time of the traffic stop. The investigation remains ongoing.
