Delano Police Seize Weapons, Ammunition in Connection with Shooting Threat Against Elementary School
DELANO, CA — “On March 21, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Delano Police Department officers responded to Morningside Elementary School (2100 Summer Drive) after school staff received an anonymous call reporting a potential school shooting. The call was placed using an app-generated phone number.
Delano Police Department Detectives took over the investigation and identified the suspects involved, along with residences linked to the incident. Detectives obtained and executed two search warrants at addresses within the City of Delano. With assistance from the Delano Police K-9 Unit, investigators recovered one fully operational pistol, three magazines, and multiple rounds of ammunition.
The case will be submitted to the Kern County Probation Department – Youth Services Division for further review.
