L.A. County Authorities Arrest Eight People, Seize Weapons, Body Armor, and More in Gang Investigation
SANTA CLARITA VALLEY, CA — Authorities in southern California have arrested several people and seized weapons, body armor, and more in connection with an ongoing gang activity investigation.
In a press release, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced that authorities had carried out a multi-location operation, led by the department’s Juvenile and Gangs (JAG) team, in the early morning hours of Thursday, April 17.
The operation involved several specialized units within LASD, as well as personnel from the District Attorney’s Office, the Department of Child & Family Services, and the FBI, the sheriff’s department said.
Authorities reportedly carried out thirteen search warrants across the Santa Clarita Valley, seizing four firearms, body armor, clothing believed to be gang-affiliated, and other unspecified evidence. Authorities also say one of the recovered firearms had been reported stolen.
As well, authorities reportedly detained 11 people and ultimately arrested eight, including two juveniles.
