Beverly Hills police are investigating a smash-and-grab robbery that occurred on Friday of last week.

According to a press release by the Beverly Hills Police Department, officers responded on the afternoon of January 10 to reports of a smash-and-grab robbery at a local hotel on the 9800 block of Wilshire Boulevard.

A security guard was injured during the robbery, received medical treatment, and is expected to recover, police said.

Following the incident, suspects fled the scene in multiple vehicles. Police located one of the vehicles, a black Mercedes sedan, and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle did not stop, prompting a pursuit into Los Angeles proper.

The chase ended near Sepulveda Boulevard and Moraga Drive, where five suspects were apprehended, and evidence and property were recovered.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities search for another vehicle and additional suspects.
