Red Bluff Police Arrest Two for Firearms and Narcotics Possession During Traffic Stop

On January 3, 2025, at approximately 11:16 p.m., a Red Bluff Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2022 Dodge Charger near 205 Antelope Boulevard for a vehicle code violation. The vehicle was occupied by four individuals, including 20-year-old Santiago Carrillo and 18-year-old Luis Maldonado, both of Red Bluff.
During the investigation, Carrillo, the front passenger, was asked to exit the vehicle. A search revealed he was carrying a loaded Ruger 5.7 pistol in his waistband. Maldonado, seated in the rear, was found to have a stolen, loaded Glock .40 caliber pistol in his possession. Carrillo was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle and being armed while in possession of a controlled substance, identified as cocaine. Maldonado was arrested for possession of a loaded, stolen firearm and carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle. Both were booked into the Tehama County Jail.
A 17-year-old male passenger was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and unable to care for himself. He was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the Tehama County Juvenile Hall. The juvenile’s identity remains confidential due to his age. The vehicle’s driver, 21-year-old Sitlaly GarciaLuvian, was cited for driving without a license and released at the scene.
The Red Bluff Police Department emphasized its commitment to community safety by removing illegally possessed firearms from circulation.
