Trinity County Authorities Investigate Alleged Unlawful Sales of Cannabis, Psilocybin Products at Local Market

“On Wednesday, April 24, 2024 Inspectors with Trinity County Environmental Health conducted an inspection based on complaints about the sale of unlicensed cannabis products and psilocybin infused food products at the Valero Gas Station/ Weaverville Market located at 1480 Main Street in Weaverville.

Based on what the Inspectors observed, they contacted the Sheriff’s Office and a search warrant was secured. Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office temporarily closed the business and contacted an Inspector with the California Department of Cannabis Control and Investigators with the Alcohol Beverage Control.

As a result of the investigation, Investigators seized hundreds of packages containing what is believed to be unlicensed cannabis, chocolate and gummies items believed to be infused with Psilocybin and THC.

This investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.”
