Jewelry Theft Suspects Arrested After Pursuit in Palm Desert

“On April 10, 2024, at 1:32 PM, members of the Palm Desert Station’s Burglary Suppression Unit, Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team, and Patrol responded to a theft in progress in the 73000 block of El Paseo, Palm Desert. Responding staff were notified by Sheriff’s Dispatch that high valued pieces of jewelry had been stolen from the location. The victim was able to provide a description of the three suspects and their vehicle.

Deputies located the black Lexus leaving the area and conducted an enforcement stop on Highway 111, Palm Desert. Two of the occupants in the vehicle fled from the vehicle but were located. Neither staff nor the suspects sustained injuries from the foot pursuit.

As a result, Miguel Roman 42-year-old Resident of Chile, Sandra Leonor Roman Penno 23-year-old Resident of Chile, and Marjorie Estephania Rojas Alegria 33-year-old Resident of Chile, were arrested and booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
