SAN PABLO — A man’s wife and mother-in-law are missing, and he is suspected of murdering them. Phuc Hong Vo, 40, of San Pablo, is being held in custody in lieu of $2 million bond. However, the two victims’ bodies have yet to be recovered.

The San Pablo Police Department said in a prepared statement. “This is an ongoing investigation, and the location of the victims’ remains are not confirmed.” Anyone with information pertaining to this case can contact the San Pablo police investigations division at 510-215-3150.

Meanwhile, Vo remains behind bars at the West County Detention Facility in Richmond. San Pablo officers arrested Vo on February 29, following a search of his Sutter Avenue residence. Murder charges were filed on March 4 against him.

Vo reported his wife 40-year-old Tho Ly and his mother-in-law 75-year-old Que Tran missing on September 13. He told investigators that he last saw them on September 6 following a family dispute.

Vo told police the two women left home in his wife’s car, planning to drive to Los Angeles. However, detectives discovered inconsistencies in Vo’s version of events. Moreover, he was seen driving his wife’s car in Oakland on December 5.

Multiple local agencies participated in an extensive investigation with San Pablo police. Additional investigatory help was provided by the U.S. Secret Service, Western States Information Network, and Natural Investigations Co. Evidence gathered during the inquiry implicates Vo in the disappearance of both women.
