Solano County Man Arrested for Alleged DUI, Felony Evasion

“This morning at 1:04 am, Officer Swoyer was dispatched to Heath Drive for a vehicle blocking westbound lanes of Airbase Parkway. When he arrived, the driver was asleep at the wheel with the vehicle still in drive.

Once awake, the driver refused to put the car in park, and led officers on a short pursuit, which was terminated due to unsafe speeds.

The vehicle got onto westbound 80 and then stopped in the dirt on the Travis Boulevard off ramp. The man then exited the car and fled on foot across the overpass. While running, Jones ditched a DoorDash bag which was recovered. The bag contained marijuana for sale.

California Highway Patrol, the Solano County Sheriff’s Office, and Vacaville’s K-9 unit all responded to assist.

The driver, 41-year-old Dontae Jones, was eventually located hiding in the restroom of a restaurant on Holiday Lane and arrested.

Jones was arrested for DUI, felony evasion, and marijuana sales.”
