“On 1/16/24 just after 3:30pm, we received a report of a female employee inside an open business within the 6000 block of Sunrise Blvd who had been robbed at knife point & the suspect had fled.

Multiple officers, including a CHPD K9 immediately responded & began searching for the suspect described as a male in his 40’s. Unfortunately, officers were unable to locate the suspect after a thorough search of the surrounding area.

Officers learned the suspect held a knife to the victim’s throat, attempted to kidnap the victim but was unsuccessful, demanded money out of the cash drawer & fled.

CHPD Investigation & Impact Units launched an investigation & identified the suspect.

Mid-morning yesterday, 2/1/24, 43-year-old Paul Gasser was arrested in Folsom by the CHPD Impact Unit for multiple charges including armed robbery, attempted kidnapping, & false imprisonment.”
