A San Jose man was recently arrested in connection with an alleged hit-and-run that left a victim with major injuries, police announced in a press release earlier this month.

On the evening of March 9, 2023, San Jose police officers responded to the area of Tully Road and Flint Avenue to investigate a report of a vehicle-pedestrian collision. At the scene, they located an adult male who had reportedly been struck while assisting a family in a disabled vehicle.

The victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Over the ensuing months, investigators utilized multiple resources, including cameras and license plate readers stationed in the area, to identify the license plate of the suspect vehicle, described as a grey 2021 Toyota truck. The suspected driver of the vehicle was identified as Vu Ngoc Lam.

On November 9, police obtained an arrest warrant for Lam. On December 14, police arrested Lam at the San Francisco International Airport. He was booked at the San Mateo County jail.
