Two Arrested on Gun Charges During Traffic Stop in Fairfield

Last week, on December 14, at 9:30 pm, Officer Spencer conducted a vehicle enforcement stop in the 2300 block of Fairfield Avenue.   He contacted the driver, and the front passenger, identified as 22-year-old Marcel McCarther.

During a probable cause search of the car, a loaded handgun was located under the front passenger’s seat.  McCarther was arrested on gun charges.

On December 15 at 12:18 am, Officer Penate made an enforcement stop at Gateway Boulevard and Travis Boulevard.  She spoke with the driver, identified as Rory White, and the car’s passenger, Latonya Jenkins.

A records check revealed White had a warrant.  During a search of the car, Officer Penate located a loaded handgun in a backpack found on the front passenger’s floor board where Jenkins was sitting.  63-year-old White was cited on his warrant.

44-year-old Jenkins, a felon, was arrested for various weapons charges.
