Man Wanted on Felony Warrant Arrested in Kern County

On November 3rd 2023 at approximately 9:54 p.m., a Senior Police Officer with the Shafter Police Department was conducting proactive patrol in the 100 block of E. Lerdo Highway when he saw a known felony warrant suspect go into a local business.

The suspect, Jose Alfredo Jimenez (30), fled from the Senior Police officer on foot toward the 200 block of East Marengo Avenue. After a brief search, Jimenez was located hiding in a backyard by officers.

Jose Jimenez was arrested on open charges for resisting arrest and possession of stolen property. Jimenez was also found to have seven (7) felony warrants and three (3) misdemeanor warrants out for his arrest.

The charges on the warrants included carjacking, assault with a deadly weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a concealed weapon, numerous vehicle and identity theft charges, probation violation, and participation in a criminal street gang.

Jimenez was booked in the Kern County Justice Receiving Facility under Shafter Police Department case 23-2677. Jimenez is being held without bail.
