On the morning of October 12, 2023, at approximately 8:52 am, the Tulare Police Department communication center received a distress call concerning a family disturbance in the 700 Block of E. Prosperity Ave in the City of Tulare.
Upon receiving the call, officers were informed that a stabbing had occurred during the altercation. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a 27-year-old man who had sustained multiple stab wounds. The injured man was swiftly transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and is currently reported to be in stable condition.
Initial findings from the investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from a verbal dispute between the victim and his wife. During the course of the argument, two of the wife’s sons became involved in a physical altercation with the victim. One of these sons has been identified as 21-year-old Isaiah Anthony Ovideo of Tulare, while the other is a 17-year-old male.
Further inquiry by detectives established that Isaiah Anthony Ovideo was responsible for stabbing the victim multiple times. The 17-year-old was also injured during the altercation, although his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Isaiah Anthony Ovideo was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Tulare County Detention Facility. He has been booked on charges of attempted homicide.
