A man with prior felony convictions was recently arrested on a litany of new charges after allegedly fleeing from a traffic stop, according to an San Luis Obispo PD press release.
Just after 2:30 AM on Tuesday, September 19, a San Luis Obispo PD patrol officer attempted to pull over a motorcycle for alleged vehicle code violations on the 1500 block of Madonna Road. The rider of the motorcycle, later identified as 42-year-old Bryan Dugan, instead fled from the officer and into a nearby apartment complex.
The officer pursued the motorcycle, but the pursuit was ultimately terminated after the officer lost sight of the motorcycle.
The officer later intercepted Dugan elsewhere in the complex and took him into custody.
The officer searched Dugan and reportedly discovered that he was wearing body armor and armed with a loaded handgun with an extended magazine. The officer also reportedly found an unserialized Glock handgun hidden in a planter near where Dugan had abandoned the motorcycle.
Dugan, who has multiple prior felony convictions, was ultimately booked at the San Luis Obispo County jail on suspicion of carrying a loaded firearm, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, being a convicted felon in possession of body armor, possession of a concealed pistol or firearm, resisting or delaying a peace officer, probation violation, and outstanding warrants.
Dugan remains in custody without bail.
