Man Arrested in Connection with Unlawful Cannabis Grow in Kern County

“On August 31, 2023, deputies from the Frazier Park Substation responded to the 6800 block of Digier Road, in Lebec, for a suspected large marijuana grow.

Deputies arrived and attempted to contact a suspect, Angel Santiago (25 years old), as he walked along the property. After a short foot pursuit, Santiago was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies served a search warrant on the property which revealed approximately 607 marijuana plants, a firearm with ammunition, and indicia of cultivation of marijuana. Items were seized pursuant to the search warrant and the plants were destroyed.

Santiago was arrested and booked into the Central Receiving Facility for marijuana cultivation and obstructing a peace officer.
