“Yesterday afternoon, you may have seen officers spread about town for some separate incidents.

In the morning they blanketed the Lagoon Valley area after an armed robbery (see previous post for more details). Officers utilized SUVs, motorcycles, dirt bikes and drones to thoroughly search and clear the area and nearby trails.

Right around noon officers found a different car associated with two individuals who had stolen $2,500 worth of baby formula from Target the day prior. Shockingly enough, the car was back at Target, backed in, near a side emergency exit.

As an officer watched the car, two suspects strode out the emergency exit with an additional $2,100 in baby formula. They panicked when they saw the officer and immediately fled through the parking lot, over fences and into nearby residential areas.

A perimeter was quickly set up, and one suspect was found hiding near the water canal nearby and the other in a residential shed on Damiano Ln. Both men were in the 20s and out of Sacramento.

As those individuals were being booked into the County Jail on felony theft charges, our SWAT and CINT teams were working with the U.S. Marshals to apprehend a wanted suspect from a July 17th homicide in Vallejo. That suspect, a 23-year-old Vallejo resident, was safely taken into custody in the 400 block of Rolling Oak Dr. and booked into the Solano County Jail on charges of murder and a violation of parole.

Thank you to all the residents who were patient and followed directions while we worked to investigate these areas and individuals. Everyone’s safety is always our number one priority, and we’re always grateful for the amazing support we continue to receive from our community.

As a reminder, if you see officers searching an area (on foot, with K9s, guns drawn, etc.) it’s a good idea to stay inside, close and lock windows and doors, and call dispatch if you see or hear anything suspicious (e.g. dogs barking like crazy, someone running through your backyard, gates or doors that appear to be freshly opened/broken, etc.). Together, we can all help keep one another safe!”
