Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on Monday, June 19, on the 800 block of Colusa Avenue. The victim, who sustained a non-life-threatening injury, was transported to Adventist-Rideout Hospital for medical treatment.

According a press release issued by the Anderson Police Department late last month, an argument involving several individuals took place regarding the alleged sale of illegal drugs. The victim intervened in an attempt to separate the parties involved and was shot as a result. The suspect responsible for firing the shot was described as a Hispanic male, possibly a juvenile. Accompanying the juvenile was another individual described as a white male adult.

After the incident, both suspects reportedly fled the scene in an older, dark-colored sedan.

The two suspects were later identified as 18-year-old Draven Vandorn from Yuba City and 18-year-old Angel Isai Aleman-Saucedo from Marysville.

On the afternoon of Friday, June 23, investigators and officers from the Anderson Police Department located and apprehended Mr. Vandorn as he was leaving Anderson River Park. He was later booked at the Yuba County jail on suspicion of accessory after the fact and criminal conspiracy. He remains in custody with bail set at $100,000, police said.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, June 28, members of the Yuba City Investigation Unit, along with the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department and NET-5, arrested Mr. Aleman-Saucedo at his residence on the 1700 block of River Run Road in Marysville. A search of his residence was conducted, but the firearm used in the crime was not located and remains outstanding.

Mr. Aleman-Saucedo was booked at the Sutter County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and attempted first-degree robbery. His bail has been set at $500,000.

The arrests were the result of collaborative efforts by the Yuba City Police Department, the Anderson Police Department, the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department, and NET-5. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with additional information related to this incident is urged to contact the Yuba City Police Department.
