Kern County Authorities Arrest Man for Alleged Unlawful Weapon Possession, Elder Abuse

“On May 3, 2023, at approximately 10:00 a.m., deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Kern Valley Substation served a search warrant in the 10 block of Vine Way in Bodfish, California.

Deputies ultimately located and seized a .22 rifle, 12-gauge shotgun, un-serialized AR-15 style rifle, large caliber un-serialized AR-15 style rifle, .22 pump action rifle, .22 revolver, and a large amount of ammunition from the residence. Steven Alvarez, age 46, of Bodfish, California was arrested for elder abuse, violation of a Domestic Violence Restraining Order, ex-felon in possession of firearms, ex-felon in possession of ammunition, altering or removing firearm identifications, and several arrest warrants. Alvarez was booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
