Man Arrested for Allegedly Violating Terms of Sex Offender Registration, Providing False Name

On the morning of February 8th, 2023, Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a probation search at a residence located on the 6700 block of West Avenue in Fields Landing.

During the search, deputies reportedly encountered nine individuals, one of whom allegedly provided deputies with a false name.

The individual who initially provided false identification was later properly identified as 43-year-old Samuel Lee Summers. Deputies discovered that Summers had an active warrant for his arrest and was out of compliance with the terms of his sex offender registration requirements. Summers was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies searched all structures on the property and reportedly discovered various drug paraphernalia. Two individuals, identified as 34-year-old Lance Eric Ostlund and 25-year-old Danielle Jean Church, were cited and released on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation.

Summers was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on suspicion of providing false identification to a peace officer, failure to register as a sex offender, parole revocation, and violation of probation.
