On February 3, 2023, at around 11:45 pm, Officer Parodi was on duty performing traffic enforcement in the vicinity of Air Base Parkway and Dover Avenue. As he was carrying out his duties, he noticed a Kia Optima that was traveling eastbound on Air Base Parkway at an extremely high speed of approximately 85 mph. Given this violation of traffic laws, Officer Parodi decided to pull over the vehicle for a routine traffic stop.

However, things took an unexpected turn when Officer Parodi was informed by Dispatch that the vehicle he had just pulled over was possibly involved in a hit-and-run incident in the town. Thankfully, there were no reports of any injuries from the collision.

As Officer Parodi approached the vehicle to check the driver’s license and registration, the front passenger opened the glove box, revealing a loaded handgun inside. Furthermore, multiple alcoholic beverages were also found in the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, who was identified as 35-year-old Henry Glover of Fairfield, was arrested on multiple gun charges, including being a felon in possession of a firearm. In addition to these charges, he was also arrested for driving under the influence, as it was clear that he had been consuming alcohol.

The arrest of Henry Glover highlights the importance of conducting regular traffic enforcement by the police. If Officer Parodi had not pulled over the vehicle, it is possible that the loaded firearm and the alcoholic beverages would not have been discovered. Furthermore, it serves as a warning to other individuals who may engage in similar criminal activities, as the police are constantly monitoring the roads and taking action against those who break the law.

In conclusion, the diligent work of Officer Parodi, who was simply carrying out a routine traffic stop, has led to the arrest of an individual who was breaking multiple laws, including possessing a loaded firearm and driving under the influence. This serves as an example of the importance of law enforcement in keeping our roads and communities safe.
