“On January 28, 2023 Hollister Police Officers responded to a call of an assault. Officers arrived and located a victim suffering multiple injuries. Despite life saving measures, the man succumbed to his injuries. A suspect was located and eventually arrested and booked on murder charges.
On January 28, 2023 at about 2:00 pm, Hollister Police officers were dispatched to a report of a victim of an assault at a residence located on the 800 block of Line street. Hollister Police Officers arrived at the scene and found a 48-year-old Hispanic male suffering from multiple stab wounds. Officers, along with Hollister Fire personnel and AMR Paramedics made life saving efforts, but the victim died at the scene.
Officers contacted Jose Sotelo-Millan (57), who lives in the room where the attack occurred. Sotelo-Millan was questioned by detectives. The initial investigation revealed that there was some sort of altercation between the victim and Sotelo-Millan. Sotelo-Millan allegedly stabbed the other male several times.
Sotelo-Millan was later booked at the San Benito County Jail on murder charges.
The victim’s name is not being released at this time pending next of kin notification.
