Man Arrested for Multiple Alleged Robberies

RIVERSIDE — On December 29, 2022, at 8:48 am, Riverside Police Officers responded to an armed robbery at a Family Dollar store on the 9100 block of Magnolia Avenue in Riverside.

A man reportedly entered the store and picked out an item, then proceeded to brandish a firearm and demand money from the register before running from the scene.

Officers were able to develop leads on an identity while talking to victims and investigating the scene. Detectives from Robbery-Homicide also responded to the scene.

Family Dollar management and loss prevention teams’ cooperation lead to the discovery that this robbery was connected with four other robberies that occurred from June to December of 2022.

The stores that were robbed were located in the blocks of 1700 block of Main Street, 6100 block of Tyler Street, and the Magnolia Avenue store, along with a Circle K store in the 3200 block of Interchange Street.

The suspect, identified as Nicholas Robert Lopez Jr. (24) of Riverside, was arrested on December 29, 2022. Lopez Jr. was arrested on five counts of robbery, but was released on $150,000 bail a few days later.
