Man Arrested for Allegedly Attacking Family Members

MURRIETA — On December 21, 2022, at 12:28 PM, the Murrieta Police Department Communications Center received a call of family disturbance on the 24000 block of 1st Avenue.

The caller said that an individual was attacking other members of the family and had caused injuries.

As police and paramedics from Murrieta Fire & Rescue responded to the call, they found several people standing outside the residence.

Police arrested Wayne Stonecipher who had injuries that were apparent to his head, at the scene.

Three other individuals at the scene also had sustained various injuries, police said.

The victims told police that Stonecipher had attacked them as they had attempted to subdue him.

No officers were injured in the incident. Two of the victims were taken to aa local hospital in stable condition.

Stonecipher was arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide and assault with a deadly weapon, and booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center on $2 million bail.
