arrest. On October 1st, 2022, the suspect was located and arrested at his residence in Fresno.

We would like to thank the Fresno Police Department and the Fresno County Gang Task Force for their assistance with this investigation and apprehension.

The suspect was subsequently transported to San José and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for homicide.

On September 30, 2022, at approximately 6:13 PM, Officers responded to the 5000 block of Almaden Expressway on a report of a person down in a vehicle. When they arrived, they found an adult female, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The female victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officers on scene and Homicide detectives were able to identify a suspect believed to be responsible for the homicide and obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect. Suspect information was disseminated to allied law enforcement agencies and on Saturday October 1, the suspect was located at a residence in the city of Fresno. With the assistance of the Fresno Police Department and the Fresno County Gang Task Force, the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The adult male suspect, who will be identified in the coming days, will be transported back to San José by detectives.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.

The identity of the deceased victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.

This is the City’s 28th homicide of 2022.
