Guerra grabbed hold of the 93-year-old woman, threw her to the ground, and stole her cell phone and car keys. She suffered injuries to her upper arm, wrist, and chest. The woman was assisted by bystanders and treated for her injuries. A short time later, officers found her car along Neeson Road in Marina. A highly agitated Guerra was arrested soon after at the Marina Airport when he called the police claiming people were after him. Daniel Guerra was identified as the person who committed the violent carjacking. Prior to the carjacking, Guerra had approached at least two others in the shopping center parking lot asking if he could use their phone.
