“Just after 12 p.m. on August 23rd, a Placer County Sheriff’s deputy responded to the CVS Pharmacy on Grass Valley Highway in Auburn for a robbery that had just occurred.

As he was responding, the deputy observed the suspect vehicle near the intersection of Highway 49 and Atwood Road, and immediately conducted a high-risk felony traffic stop.

Several deputies arrived to assist and ordered both the driver and the passenger to exit the vehicle. Both suspects were placed in handcuffs while deputies searched the vehicle.

Deputies found several large bags inside the vehicle containing numerous stolen merchandise totaling over $6,300. During the investigation, deputies learned the suspect driver swerved at a witness who was trying to take a photo of the suspect vehicle’s license plate at the CVS Pharmacy.

The driver, 25-year-old Jessie Pennington, and passenger, 25-year-old Jordan McCall, were arrested for felony burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit a crime, and four out-of-county warrants related to theft.”
