“On Thursday, July 28th, detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office Sex Crimes Unit arrested 64 year old Bernardino Villalobos of Del Rey. He has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on a charge of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years old. His bail is set at $40,000. Villalobos is also a registered sex offender who has served time in prison for convictions of rape and sodomy.

Detectives began their investigation after receiving information that Bernardino Villalobos had sexually abused a child in 2017. It was discovered Villalobos owns a church and serves as the minister there. It is called La Obra De Jesus Christian Church, which is located at 5433 S. Academy Ave. in Del Rey. Due to his position at the church, detectives are concerned there may be more victims who have not reported similar incidents involving Villalobos.
