The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two brothers from Porterville in connection to a recent armed robbery in Earlimart.

26-year-old David Martinez and his 19-year-old brother, Bernardo, have reportedly been implicated as suspects in an armed robbery at Gas Wars Market on South State Street on the evening of Wednesday, July 13.

Deputies who arrived at the scene were informed that two men, one armed with a handgun, had entered the store and left with two cash registers containing an undisclosed amount of money. A single shot had been fired but nobody was hurt, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The two brothers were ultimately located and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, robbery, and other charges, and booked at the South County Detention Facility. Bernardo Lopez was also in possession of a loaded gun at the time of his arrest, the Sheriff’s Office said.
