San Bernardino police have announced the arrest of a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run that took place back in March.

Investigators identified 29-year-old Matthew Mason as the suspect in a high-speed rear-end collision that killed another motorist on the night of March 8, 2022. Mason had allegedly been driving at over 100 mph.

After the collision Mason fled the scene on foot, leaving an unregistered gun in his car, police said. After identifying Mason as the suspect, investigators discovered he had numerous felony warrants out for his arrest dating back to 2016.

At last, on July 11th 2022, investigators located and arrested Mason in Riverside. He was booked on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter as well as the outstanding warrants, police said.
