A man has been arrested in connection to five alleged sexual assaults in the Bay Area, one of which was against a 9-year-old girl, police said.

44-year-old Tommy Giles Jr. was arrested on sexual assault and kidnapping charges in alleged crimes committed in Albany, Berkeley, and Oakland.

In the first incident, on the morning of March 30th, he is accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl in Albany at knifepoint while she was walking to school. The girl claimed the suspect had been armed with a knife, police said.

He is also accused of assaulting a 23-year-old woman in Berkeley on the afternoon of April 14th, again at knifepoint. On April 29th, a similar assault took place in Oakland involving another 23-year-old victim.

On May 21st, at around 12:30 AM, a 60-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in the area of Stannage Avenue and Cedar Street in Berkeley. This time, however, the victim took pictures of the suspect which were then shared to social media. A Berkeley resident who saw the pictures reportedly recognized the suspect as Tommy Giles Jr., police said.
